  • 1 cup maize flour
  • 1/3 cup Master Cook Chakki Atta
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp carom seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2-3/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp oil
  • Oil for frying
  • Spice Mix: Salt + Black Pepper Powder + Red Chilli Powder + Aamchoor Powder

  • Mix together flours, turmeric, carom and salt.
  • Add water little at a time and knead until it forms a smooth dough.
  • Let the dough rest for 20 minutes and then add a tsp of oil and knead again.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan or pot.
  • Roll out portions of dough and using a round cutter, make circles.
  • Cut these circles into 6 equal slices.
  • Deep fry these slices until crisp.
  • Let drain and then toss in the spice mix.
  • Serve with salsa.
